Jessy Cyrus , Our Staff Secretary, Master Ferdinand Aloysius Rozario (School Captain)all  our  class X CBSE toppers of the previous year, my dear teaching and non-teaching staff, loving parents, my beloved children and well-wishers of our school, first and foremost of all, let me thank God  Almighty for his unceasing blessings and care being showered on us  throughout the year.

I have great pleasure in presenting to you the school annual report for the year, 2023-2024.   We secured 100% pass in the CBSE Class X examination conducted in 2023 also.  Among the 45 students appeared for the examination ,Kumari Devika.R stood as  the school topper.

Main events during the academic year

School Re-opening  Day

Our School re-opened on 1st June 2023 for classes from UKG to Std. X.  School Manager, Rev.Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil, presided over the school re-opening day function.  Rev. Fr. Dr.Yesudas Kattunkalthayil  was the chief guest of the day. During his inaugural speech he  inspired everyone  to be sincere in their working spheres and he also  stressed upon the need of communication in English to become the resourceful persons in future.  The new Principal Mrs. Mini Joseph addressed everyone with warm love and affection. She  also welcomed the new teachers  for  this academic year. A colourful welcoming programme was arranged under the guidance of Mrs. Rivya.  Principal passed on the flame of knowledge to all the teachers.

Pravesanotsavam : 5^th June 2023

We conducted a grand Pravesanotsavam  for LKG students  on 5^th June 2023.  School Principal Mrs. Mini Joseph welcomed the little ones who stood among their parents and teachers.  Our School Manager, Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil,  delivered a message and offered prayers for the kids.  He was kind enough to bless all the students and their class rooms.  A colourful programme was organized by  KG teachers.

The World Environment day ; 5^th June 2023

The co-scholastic activities and celebrations for this academic year started with the World Environment day on that day. Principal Mrs. Mini Joseph delivered the message and planted a sapling  along with  the students.  Placard making competition and distribution of the saplings to every student were the highlights in the afternoon.  Students planted these sapling in their backyards.

Honouring our CBSE Toppers by PTA : June 12,2023

On 12^th June 2023, school PTA organized a merit award programme to  honour  CBSE toppers of our school.  Principal Mrs. Mini Joseph  welcomed the gathering.  Manager Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil, presided over the function and distributed the awards to 8 glittering stars who secured high mark in the CBSE examination.

Reading day Celebration: 19^th June 2023

Reading week was celebrated  from 19^th to 25^th June.  Mr. Sharbin Sandhyav , a well-known writer and an influencer was the chief guest. He delivered an inspirational speech.  Various competitions were conducted with novelty.  The enacting of LP students as famous writers was the highlight of the day. Prizes were distributed by our Manager ,Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil.

Yoga Day : 21 st June 2023

On 21^st June 2023 we observed Yoga Day in our school by conducting a special assembly.  Our respected school Manager Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil, Principal Mrs. Mini Joseph Ma’am and vice principal Raichel Miss shared the importance of Yoga in our daily life.  Demonstration by the yoga teachers and the students was the highlight of the event.

Planetarium show :23^rd June 2023

On 23^rd June 2023, a planetarium show was held in our school for students from std.  I to X.  From morning to noon they attended it in different batches which helped to provide a 3D vision of the galaxy.  Children were extremely excited to watch it over and the show was a huge success.

School Investiture Ceremony : 26^th June 2023

On 26^th  June 2023, we conducted the Investiture ceremony. Our Manager in his discourse , motivated  and wished the new student  council all success.  The oath   taking was an inspirational moment and it was led by our beloved Principal.  The badges  and sashes were conferred upon the proud elected  students by the Chief guest, Mr. Joseph Stanly, Sub Inspector of North Police station, Alappuzha. He  inspired our leaders  through a motivational speech.  Master Ferdinand Aloysius was sworn in as  school captain and Kumari Sreelakshmi R as Vice captain.

Anti-Drug Day  :27^th  June 2023

On 27^th June 2023, our school observed Anti-Drug Day.  Mr. Santhakumar G, Senior  Civil Police Officer of Narcotic cell was the chief guest of the day.  Mrs. Lissy T (Inspector of Police women cell ), Mrs. Suja (ASI women cell), Omana K  (Women cell advisory  board member), were the other guests on the dais.  Our school captain, Master Ferdinand Aloysius took the oath against drug usage.  The day was atmost meaningful with the message against the use of drugs.

Friendship day : 30^th June 2023

On 30^th June 2023 , Friendship Day was celebrated in our school.  School capatain and vice captain tied friendship band on the hands of school Manager and Principal Ma’am.  Our students performed a flash mob at the Alappuzha Railway Station and tied friendship bands to station Master, Railway Police and the passengers.

Hiroshima Day: 7^th August 2023

On 6^th of August 2023.  Hiroshima Day was observed in our school to commemorate world peace  among the children.  A short summary and a  message were conveyed  by selected students and Principal , Mrs. Mini Joseph explained it in much more authentically.  Manager  Rev. Fr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil  flew the dove as a symbol  of peace.  Various competitions  were also conducted  in connection with the day.

CBSE Capacity building programme on Art Integration: 12 August 2023

For teachers of various schools, CBSE Capacity building programme  on Art Integration was hosted by our school on 12^th August 2023.  Mrs. Sindhu Anoop, Vice Principal  of Rajagiri St.Chavara CMI school, Cherthala and Dr,C.G. Geetha  were the resource persons  of the programme.

Inauguration of Vayanakalari  : 14^th  August 2023

Here in our school we celebrated Vayanakalari  inauguration  on 14^th  August 2023.   Malayala Manorama, the leading newspaper of Kerala organized the reading campaign and Mr.Sabu Thomas, owner of Matha Surgicals also tied up  with our school management to  make this initiative a success .  Our School Manager  Rev. Fr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil, Principal Mini Joseph Maa”m  inaugurated this function by handing over  the news paper.

Independence Day: 15^th August 2023

As a tribute to the nation, we  celebrated  Independence Day  on 15^th August 2023.  With a great patriotic feeling, we hoisted the national flag and saluted the national flag.  Band, Cubs and bulbuls troop of our school particiated in the  Independence day  parade competition  held in the Alappuzha recreation ground.  March Past and  other cultural activities were the prominent sights  of the day.  As part of the art integration, students  of class  IX  performed tribal dances of Kerala and Chhatttisgarh.  The songs, costume , make-up altogether proclaimed the message of unity in diversity.

Leo  Art Fest : 2023-2024

Youth Fest  for the year,2023- 24 was conducted on 18^th and 19^th  of August. The inaugural ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of the chief guest, Mrs. Annamma George, DEO, Alappuzha and cine-artist Smt. Manohari Joy.  Our DEO  Mrs. Annamma George shared her experience as a teacher with students and wished our young talents all the success.   Competitions were conducted in various items as per the suggestion of Sahodaya.

Onam Celebrations : 24^th and 25^th August 2023

Onam Celebrations were conducted separately- for the students of LKG and L.P. section on 24^th  August  and for the students  of  U.P. and High School on 25^th August.   Indoor and outdoor programmes were organized under the leadership of different conveners.  Payasam was served to all the students and staff members.  Teachers Dance was also an attraction of the second day.  Management was kind enough to give all the staff members, Onasadhya, and a reasonable amount as Onam gift.

Teachers day Celebration : 5^th September 2023

The students celebrated  Teachers day  on 5^th September in a colourful manner.  Special assembly was organized under the leadership of our school captain Master Ferdinand Aloysius Rozario.  Teachers were given greeting cards and flowers with words of gratitude

Skating Academy : 13^th October 2023

Inauguration of Skating Academy  was organized by our school.  Mr. V.G. Vishnu, Mr. Sudheer K.S., District Council skating instructor  and Mr.Bharat Chandran, skating champion were the dignitaries of the day.  Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil addressed the ceremony and we had a   demonstration  by our student Abhirami S along with the coach.

Training programme  for Teachers : 25^th october 2023

On 25^th october 2023,  Teachers Training programme  was conducted.  Mr. R. Vijayakumar, a popular psychologist as well as trainer was the resource person.  He focused on the area of learning disabilities and also gave some tips for effective teaching. And also a good number of our teachers have attended various workshops initiated by CBSE as  well as Alappuzha Sahodaya during the year 2023-2024.

Alappuzha Sahodaya Volleyball : November 3^rd,2023

On 3^rd November 2023, our school  hosted the Alappuzha Sahodaya  inter school Volleyball competition.   And it was inaugurated by our beloved Manager.  Competition for girls team was conducted for the first time  in the history of Sahodaya schools complex and that was indeed a new start.  The trophy and certificate for the winners were distributed by Rev. Fr. Samji Vadakkedam, General Secretary of Sahodaya school complex.

Children’s Day: 14^th November 2023

Children’s Day was celebrated in our school in a befitting manner  on 14^th November.  Several colourful programmes and a beautiful rally  were organized  outside the school campus . Children from KG to IV std wore red, green and blue dresses  according to their category and it was indeed a heartwarming sight.  In the afternoon our school participated in Children’s day Rally organized by Sisukshema Samidhi, Alleppey.  Our school  bagged 1^st prize for bull bulls.

Awareness class on Cyber Crimes : November 16^th  ,2023

On November 16^th,2023 our school organized an awareness class by the cyber  cell.  Mr. Mahesh from cyber cell led the session for class X students and their parents.  The ICT oriented interaction enhanced the deep understanding of cyber-crimes and the precautions we should take.

Annual Tour: 17^th November 2023

Annual Tour for this academic year 2023-24 was conducted on 17^th November 2023.  A one day trip was arranged for the students from III to IX to Silver storm and for X students to Wonderla.

Film Show : 25^th November 2023

On 25^th November 2023, a film show  was conducted in our school which was highly recommended by the authorities among public instruction.  The title of the movie was “Sukhamayirikkatte ” by Rajee Prabhakaran.    After the film show, the Director of the film and our students had an interaction session.

Athletic  Meet  : 6^th & 7^th December   2023

Our school  hosted the Alappzha  Sahodaya Athletic meet 2023 in the campus of Carmel Engineering College ,Punnapra.  The meet was inaugurated by H.Salam, honourable  MLA,Ambalapuzha.  1400 students from  44 schools participated  in the meet.  Mr. Ashlin  Alexander, All India Youth national meet medalist inspired the whole unit through his inspirational words.  On the second day the finals of the competitions were held .  We extended our love and gratitude to  Rev. Fr. Justin Alukkal  CMI, Director of Carmel Engineering college for his co-operation.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas celebration was held for Students from Pre-KG to Std IV celebrated it on 21^st .  Various programmes for little buds were included.  Santa Claus gave their Christmas messages to the students.  Students from Std.V to X celebrated it on 22^nd December.  Rev. Fr. Yesudas Arackal was the chief guest for the celebration.  He conveyed the message of sharing which was indeed and inspiring one.  The celebration was also enriched with colorful programmes by the students.  Our students of Std. V visited Assisi Vidyalayam , a neighbouring school for mentally retarded children, shared cakes and performed various programmes for entertain them.

Sports Day

Annual Day Sports was colourfully coducted on 12th January 2024. Our Principal delivered a motivational speech and inaugurated the meet by lighting the torch.   After the March past and Mass Drill, Competitions in various sports were held.   Certificates and medals were awarded to the winners.

School band

We have a school Band under the brilliant guidance of Master Joseph Trifflin Maxido.  Our prestigious band was adjudged as the number one  in the Alappuzha Sahodaya CBSE  District Kalotsav 2023 and Nehru Trophy Boat Race Rally 2023.   Our bul- buls also bagged first place in the parade  in connection with the Independence Day celebrations 2023 and children’s day rally 2023.

Leo FM

Leo FM  is doing better and better under the able guidance of Mrs. Lissy Wilson .

Co- Curricular Activities

Wednesday afternoon is set apart for the development of co-curricular activities. Special coaching is imparted in basket ball, Football, Athletics, Yoga, and Karate.Quiz,  Fine Arts , such as painting, drawing and orchestra are given  due importance in the curriculam of our students.  Our School was the venue for  H & C  stores all kerala quiz competition for various schools  and Chess tournament.

Abacus

To improve the mathematical skill of the children  we introduced abacus training for students of KG  to std. II

Motivation and board exam preparation session for Class X students

A Motivation cum board exam preparation session for Class X students was arranged on 15^th January 2023.  Mr. Lalu Malayil ,famous performance trainer led the session.

Leo Science Expo 2023

It is decided  to conduct Leo Science Expo on February 2024.  We are waiting for it with great enthusiasm as it is a day to explore the young talents in science.

Achievements

Leo  Dance Team has won First Prize for Group Dance (H.S.) in Alappuzha.  Sahodaya Kalotsav and third prize with “A” grade in  CBSE SCHOOL State Kalotsav.

R.  –VII A – Folk dance first prize Mohiniyattam  (first prize) in Alappuzha Sahodaya  District Kalotsav.  Second Prize –Folk dance, “A “ grade-Mohiniyattam   All Kerala CBSE  CBSE Kalotsav 2023.  Mohiniyattam  (1^st)  Nadodinrutham (1^st),Bharathanatyam (1^st) in Navarathri Mahotsav 2023 conducted by FDCAS Ambalapuzha.  Bharathanatyam (1^st) Folk Dance (1^st)  in Interschool competition conducted by Kidangamparambu Kshethra  Yogam 2023. Nadodinrutham (2^nd) in Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakhyam.
2. Antony Varghese -VII A-  Third prize in CBSE District Kalotsav 2023
3. Hanna P Yesudas –IV A- Tackwondo- Alleppey District Competition – secured Gold Medal in Sub-junior    Secured Bronze Medal in 25^th State championship 2023.
4. Abel P Yesudas – IV A – Bronze medal in Tackwondo Sub-junior  championship 2023. Gold Medal in Sahodaya  District Championship 2023.  Bronze medal in 25^th State  Championship 2023.
5. Anakha Raj – First prize in District Level Net Ball competition 2023.  Third prize in  State District Level Net Ball competition 2023.
6. Uthara Krishna – VII A – Kerala Central School  Sports Meet 2023-Second prize in Shot put.
7. Karthik R –VI A – Gold medal for Pencaksilot in the district level and Bronze medal in state level.
8. Sanika Sanal – VII A – Bharathanatyam (II nd ), Folk Dance ( (II nd) in Navarathri Mahotsav 2023. Bharathanatyam (II nd )in Interschool competition conducted by Kidangamparambu Kshethra  Yogam 2023.
9. Steve Sanju – I B – Certificate of Excellence for outstanding performance in GC-International Science Olympiad.
10. Adarash S – IX A – Secured second prize for Guitar in Sahodaya District Kalotsav and scored “A” grade in All Kerala CBSE Kalotsav 2023
11. Hridya Manoj – IX A- A grade in Versification .
12. Shone Thomas – First prize – under 19 chess Tournament conducted by PRIME CHESS. 4^th position in District Chess Championshsip and represented Alappuzha in State Championship.

We fully realize that the entire success of our school depends on the full co-operation and unfailing sincerity of the whole staff and students.    I take this occasion to extend my sincere gratitude to each and every staff member of our school.     I cannot but   express my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Raichel P.G., our respected Vice Principal.  She does a lot of extra administrative work in addition to her teaching.  She is loved and respected by one and all in our school.

In this occasion we express our sincere love and gratitude to   our beloved patron Rt. Rev. Dr. James Raphael Anaparambil, Bishop of Alleppey, our Manager, Rev. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil ,  Assistant  Manager Rev. Fr. Thomas Maniapozhyil  and Rev. Fr. Nelson Thyparambil, Chairman, Board of  Education  Alleppey Diocese.

I would like to conclude the Annual report pertaining to the academic year, 2023-2024.  Before that, I have my prime duty to express my sincere gratitude to   our beloved Manager, Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastian Sasthamparambil   for his relentless service towards the development of our school.  He is a source of inspiration for all of us in the school.  I extend my gratefulness to our loving Manager in the name of every staff member of  our school.  My heartfelt thanks to all the parents, especially, the PTA Executive members for their support and concern for the school.

I make use of this juncture to thank God Almighty for His abundant blessings on all of us who work for the betterment of  our school. Let this school be a Temple of Knowledge and ‘Seat of Wisdom’ for the   coming generations also.
